Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of choosing infrared heaters over traditional heating solutions?
While traditional convection heating systems, such as regular radiators, heat the air in a room, infrared heat targets the objects that the waves encounter. When these objects are heated, they radiate the heat back into the room. This makes infrared heating an efficient and cost-effective solution.
With an infrared heater, not only walls and floors are warmed; even objects in the room, such as furniture, sinks, toilet seats, and mirrors, can become as warm as the temperature set on the thermostat. Once the panels have heated the objects, they shut off and let the objects heat the room. This can lead to reduced energy consumption and cost savings.
In addition to cost savings, an infrared heater also offers a more pleasant room climate. Compared to traditional heating systems, it reduces air turbulence, dust formation, and helps preserve moisture. Overall, the eco2heat infrared heater is an excellent option for those seeking an efficient, economical, and comfortable heating solution.
What are the benefits of choosing eco2heat's elements?
Our infrared elements operate at a wavelength of 10,000 nanometers, which is known as long-wave infrared radiation. Thanks to our patented technology, we achieve this wavelength with lower output power (watts) and can maintain a low surface temperature of only 60-90 degrees Celsius. Compared to similar elements on the market, our heaters consume up to three times less power.
The lower surface temperature allows our heaters to be hung at body height without the risk of burns to humans and animals. In contrast, many other providers have a surface temperature of over 90-100 degrees.
Furthermore, our infrared heaters are safe in terms of electromagnetic pollution (electrosmog). They require no maintenance and are relatively easy to install.
Overall, our eco2heat infrared heaters are an excellent option for those seeking an efficient, economical, and comfortable heating solution.
If I currently have direct electric heating, how easy is it to switch to eco2heat?
Heating with electricity is not a problem with our panels. In fact, compared to traditional electric radiators, our panels can achieve up to 80% energy savings
Is eco2heat a sustainable and climate-smart solution?
The eco2heat infrared panels are not only sustainable but also environmentally friendly. Compared to conventional heating systems such as electric radiators or traditional electric underfloor heating, eco2heat infrared panels can consume up to 80% less electricity, resulting in significant energy and cost savings. The costs of fossil fuels such as gas and oil are constantly increasing, making heating uneconomical. Additionally, they can also contribute to higher CO2 emissions, depending on the type of fuel used.
Using an infrared heating system in combination with renewable energy sources such as solar panels is by far the most affordable, cleanest, and environmentally friendly heating solution. With this solution, you can significantly reduce your energy consumption and carbon footprint while saving money on your energy bill.
What is infrared heat?
Infrared is a type of light that humans have categorized based on its longer wavelengths and lower frequencies compared to visible light. It covers a broad range of frequencies that are approximately 10 and a half octaves wide. However, not all infrared radiation has the same properties. Some parts of the spectrum have unique characteristics, while others may be very different.
Infrared heat is similar to the heat produced by the sun, as it is made up of electromagnetic waves. Our Carbon hybrid elements generate a specific type of infrared heat called long-wave infrared C radiation. Unlike other types of radiation, infrared C radiation is only absorbed on the surface of the skin and has no harmful effects on humans. In fact, research shows that it has positive properties for both humans, animals, and other biological materials.
Compared to most other heat sources, people generally find infrared heat more pleasant. This is because it is a specific light frequency that creates the heat, rather than heating up the air around us.
How can I best position my eco2heaters in the room for optimal heating?
We recommend hanging or placing our heaters, if possible, at a height of 20 cm above the ground to achieve the best effects of radiation and convection heat. Our heating system is capable of heating the air, and positioning the heaters at a lower point ensures better airflow. However, if there is no other option but to place the heaters higher up on the wall, or on the ceiling for example, this is also possible but it may result in lower efficiency.
Can an infrared heating system be considered a complete and effective heating solution?
The eco2heat infrared heating system can function as a standalone, full-fledged heating system. However, it is crucial to calculate the exact number of panels required for each room to achieve optimal heating efficiency. Additionally, infrared heaters can also serve as a supplementary heat source in combination with other heating systems such as pellets, oil, or gas.
Does it work in old houses?
The age of the house is not decisive for how good an effect you can achieve with the help of infrared heating, however, the insulation plays an essential role. If you have moisture-damaged walls, the heating may take longer as the infrared heat dries out the moisture before achieving the full effect.
How many infrared panels do I need in a room?
The number and dimensions of the required infrared panels depend on the heating needs of each room. This, in turn, depends on the size and characteristics of the room (insulation, walls, floor, etc.), as well as the climatic conditions and desired indoor temperature. If you are interested, we can provide a free and non-binding calculation based on your specific needs. For a rough estimation you can also use our eco2heat - Calculator
Are there discreet heaters?
Yes, our elements are available in both discreet and stylish models as well as completely invisible with our built-in elements.
Can I use them in the conservatory or on the terrace?
eco2heat panels are perfectly suited as heating in the outdoor space, but the energy consumption and the feeling of heat are quite dependent on the insulation in the room and can therefore require more energy than they do indoors.
Can I use them in the bathroom?
Thanks to the infrared waves, the heating elements from eco2heat are perfect for bathrooms as they help keep walls and other surfaces dry without affecting the air quality. Another advantage is that our mirror elements do not fog up when in operation.
What is the recommended temperature when using eco2heat heaters?
We recommend maintaining a temperature of 19-20 degrees Celsius with our heating system. Studies show that infrared heat is perceived to be 1-2 degrees Celsius warmer than ordinary convection heat. If you want to increase the temperature, keep in mind that as a general rule of thumb, the energy consumption increases by around 8-15% for every degree Celsius increase in temperature.
Does the heat help against cold floors?
Because the heat from the infrared waves warms the objects and surfaces in the room, you can get pleasantly warm floors. You also avoid the drag on your feet, because you don't get any thermodynamic effect as the infrared waves don't affect the temperature of the air in the same way as with traditional convection heat.
Do the elements heat even if you have a lot of windows, or does the IR heat go straight through the windows?
In the case of glass, only certain infrared regions pass through it, and this is entirely dependent on the type of glass.
The heat from our elements is reflected back by the window, as our patented technology achieves the long-wave infrared radiation of 10,000 nanometers. Therefore, most windows retain the heat. The energy savings and heating in the room are therefore more dependent on the house's insulation than the size or number of windows.
Are the elements so hot that I could burn myself on them?
All eco2heat ́s Infrared Panels are certified and tested, therefore there is no risk of getting burned. Maximum surface temperature is 85-90°C. Only at a temperature exceeding 125°C would there be a risk of burns. Therefore, eco2heat Infrared Panels are also completely animal and child safe.
How long is the lifespan of the elements?
Our Infrared Panels have a guaranteed lifespan of up to 3 years, but the first prototype is over 20 years old and is still in operation today.
Do the elements have a high consumption?
In terms of annual heating costs, eco2heat's infrared heating systems are among the most affordable heating systems on the market. The annual heating costs mainly depend on the prevailing climate (temperature during the day), the conditions in the building (insulation), the desired indoor temperature and the price of electricity. As an example, when calculating the costs for a very well-insulated house (u = 0.20 - 0.23) during an average winter, the cost is about 3.00-4.00 EUR per day. This can be calculated as follows: 210 heating days (summer days without the need for heating not included) with 7 heating hours per day. Power consumption for 100 m2 living space: 14-15 kWh with electricity price per kWh: approx. 0.20-0.30 EUR Annual heating costs will then be approx. 800.00 - 900.00 EUR.

What other costs may arise?
Compared to the use of traditional convection heaters, eco2heat infrared heaters do not incur any additional costs such as those for pipe installation, pumps, maintenance, chimney sweeps, or pipe replacements. This results in an incredibly cost-effective and user-friendly solution with eco2heat infrared heaters.
Can I mount the infrared panels myself?
With a little bit of handy work, you can install our heaters on the wall or ceiling. Our delivery includes all necessary materials for wall mounting, including a drilling template to ensure a safe installation. For optimal heating, we recommend mounting the heaters 20 cm from the floor on the wall. Please note that a separate thermostat is required for temperature control, which is not included in the delivery.
For electrical connections, including the installation of built-in thermostats into the power grid, it is strongly recommended to seek the assistance of a qualified electrician.
How to control the panels?
To control our heaters, you will need a separate thermostat or timer switch. There are various options available, from manual thermostats to smart home-controlled thermostats that can be conveniently controlled through an app. If you would like more information on this, please feel free to contact us.
How can I control the Infrared panels surface temperature?
The surface temperature of our heaters cannot be directly controlled. The heating element is controlled by a separately available thermostat that turns the heater on or off. When the heater is on, our infrared heaters reach a surface temperature of about 80-90°C for our hottest elements and 60-65°C for our textile or flush-mounted elements.
Can I place objects such as sofas in front of the eco2heat panels?
In general, we recommend not having any objects blocking the eco2heat panels. They are best placed where the infrared rays can work without obstruction. Think of a light source - the fewer objects that block the light, the better the illumination. The same principle applies to our heaters. However, we understand that in some cases it may be necessary to place objects such as sofas in front of the panels. In these cases, we recommend leaving some space between the object and the heating element to ensure good air circulation and to ensure that the elements are not completely covered. This will maximize the efficiency of the heating system.
Can you install elements in the ceiling?
While it is possible to hang eco2heat heaters on the ceiling, we recommend using them on the wall if possible. The reason for this is that the heat generated by the panels is best utilized when they are positioned horizontally, as this allows for optimal heat distribution throughout the room. If wall mounting is not an option due to space constraints, ceiling mounting can still be done. However, it is important to keep in mind that this may affect the efficiency of the system since the heat will be directed downwards instead of horizontally.
